Description

Mr. Kent Wilkins will discuss the workings of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board.

Speaker Background:

Kent Wilkins is Chief of the OWRB’s Planning and Management Division.  Mr. Wilkins has a BS degree in Geology and has been with the OWRB since 1990.  He is currently responsible for management of multiple programs at the Board including Water Right Permitting, Water Well Drilling, Floodplain Management, Dam Safety, Oklahoma Comprehensive Water Plan Update and Technical Studies.  He has performed technical investigations related to groundwater basin studies, water right permit inspections, groundwater remediation systems and numerous other water projects.  He has been involved in environmental hydrogeology and geology for over 30 years.  Prior to 1990, Mr. Wilkins worked as a well-site geologist at numerous oil and gas drill sites and as a consulting geologist investigating leaking underground fuel storage tank sites. Mr. Wilkins is a Certified Remediation Consultant, Certified Floodplain Manager and a Registered Professional Environmental Specialist.  He is a member of the Oklahoma Ground Water Association, National Ground Water Association and Oklahoma Floodplain Managers Association.
