Educational Luncheon - November 17, 2022

Join us at TAPL's November 17, 2022 Virtual Educational Luncheon!

Date: November 17, 2022

Time: 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Speaker: Dwayne Purvis, PE

Topic: A New Economic Yardstick for Today's Late-life Production: Holdback

Low-rate, late-life producers figure prominently in the portfolios of most oil companies, but they also create a unique financial trap for their owners.  Decades of delayed plugging has accumulated liabilities while production and cash flow have tapered down.  Combined these make it possible for cash-flowing properties with a positive present value to be net liability instead of an asset.  This presentation explains the unexpected, the dangers it creates, and how to foresee the trap so that the tax-paying public does not end up footing the bill for our former profit centers.

To make educational credits available to our membership in a convenient manner, TAPL will host this event in a virtual format. It will be streamed via Zoom at no cost. When registering for the event, please be sure to include your current email address, as TAPL will use the registration details to coordinate Zoom invitations. Zoom can be downloaded for free online, but will not be necessary to view the presentation. All you will need is a phone or computer and access to the internet.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to any of the TAPL Board Members. We hope you can join us for this interesting and informative presentation.
