SPEAKER: Nelson Anaback, Needham Energy Advisors, LLC

TOPIC: The "Stigler Act", Indian Probates and Other BIA Topics

SPEAKER BIO: Nelson Anaback is the Regulatory Manager for Needham Energy Advisors, LLC where he oversees all preparation, submission and approvals of critical documentation, including Communitization Agreements, Applications for Permit to Drill, and other filings necessary for the exploration and production of oil and gas on Federal, State and Tribal lands.  Nelson has over 14 years of experience working with governmental agencies including the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, and the Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR).  He performs research and review of various environmental regulations and court decisions that have an impact on the energy industry and regulatory landscape.  He also assists clients in due diligence in the purchase of Federal and Indian Oil and Gas properties.  Nelson previously at Reagan Smith Energy Solutions had various roles including Senior Manager of Regulatory Compliance. 

Nelson is originally from the Republic of Cameroon.  He will be receiving his Juris Doctorial degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Law this May.  He attended the University of Oklahoma where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management and a Master’s Degree in Energy Economics.  Publications include: “Shale Gas Twenty First Century Gold Rush?” and “Renewable Energy in Developing Countries: Case of Cameroon.”

Nelson has received numerous honors and participates in various community service activities and local organizations including, YPE, Oklahoma City Food Bank, Impact Young Lives Foundation, OCAPL, TAPL, AAPL, OK Agency-Industry Working Group and Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.

Nelson, his wife Colleen, and their 5-year old son Fran çois reside in Norman.  Nelson is an avid golfer, music lover, and is passionate about the industry and the clients he serves.
