Ted currently serves as the Director of Energy Management Center at The University of Tulsa, where he has developed the first Energy Management program at a private university. The unique curriculum incorporates upper division required coursework from all four of TU’s undergraduate colleges in addition to the TU College of Law. It also has an upstream and midstream component which distinguishes itself from other similar programs.


Prior to coming to TU, he was the Director of Energy Management, formerly Petroleum Land Management (PLM), from 1997 until 2006 at his alma mater, The University of Oklahoma.




At OU, he is credited with the resurrection of the then PLM program and grew that program from 4 students to 200+ students and placed 100% of his graduates in the nine years he was at OU.



In the Spring of 1999, he also orchestrated the change that took the one dimensional PLM degree to the current multi-interdisciplinary Energy Management degree.

 

 Work Experience:

 

 

·        Before entering academia he worked 20 years in the industry with the following companies:



  • Getty Oil Company, TXO Production Corp., Tidemark Exploration Company and The Energy Companies of ONEOK (pronounced One-Oak)


·        His positions included:



  •  Landman,    Area Landman,    District Landman,    Land Manager, Gas Marketing Representative and Acquisitions Coordinator


 

Professional Affiliations:

 

·        American Association of Professional Landmen (A.A.P.L.)

·       
Honorary member of 8 different Landman Associations throughout the United States

·        Serves as a Director on the Tulsa Area American Red Cross Board of Directors




Honors and Achievements:

 

·        Eagle Scout

·        Founder and organizer of the Field of Dreams 5K Run in Tulsa, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma.

·        Landman of the Year for 2003-04 by the Oklahoma City Association of Petroleum Landman




Background & Education:

 

·        Born and raised in Waco Texas.

·        Third generation graduate of the University of Oklahoma.

·        Graduated with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management




Hobbies & Interests

  • Has completed ten marathons (including the 100th running of the Boston Marathon in 1996)
  • Golf, snow skiing, traveling & Personal Fitness

·        Lives in Tulsa, and has three grown children, who are all currently pursuing post -graduate degrees.
