Beginning Spring Semester of 2009, the Tulsa Association of Petroleum Landmen and the University of Tulsa – through its Energy Management Student Association will begin a Mentoring Program designed to provide students with exposure to all aspects of the Land Profession as well as networking opportunities. This program will provide excellent opportunity to give back to a younger generation of landmen making their first steps into what can seem an intimidating line of work. This program is modeled on the very successful Oklahoma City Association of Petroleum Landmen – University of Oklahoma Energy Management Program model which continues to provide many of our members valuable contacts, as well as learning experience in their early years. A Mission Statement outlining the details of the program has been attached. If you are interested in being a mentor, please email me (Steve McNamara, Jr.) at email@example.com as soon as possible. We’d like to get mentors matched up with students before the quickly approaching holidays so the program will be ready to go January 1st, 2009.
